Rob Waggener is the Chief Executive Officer for Foundations Recovery Network, an integrated dual diagnosis treatment, research and education company with facilities located in Memphis, Malibu, Sausalito and Palm Springs California. Rob is a licensed clinical social worker and a Diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Prior to Foundations Associates, Rob was with Lakeside Behavioral Health System for 13 years and was the Chief Executive Officer of that facility for the last 9 years of service. During his tenure there he expanded psychiatric service lines to include geriatric services, ECT, child and adolescent partial hospital and intensive outpatient services, dual diagnosis treatment for adults, mobile crisis services, managed units in medical hospitals and developed and implemented the Lakeside Psychiatric Triage service for Memphis/Shelby County. Under Rob’s leadership, Lakeside and Southeast Mental Health Center created a for-profit/not-for-profit joint venture hospital called Community Behavioral Health, designed to fill a gap in private, largely Medicaid-funded
inpatient services in downtown Memphis. In 2003, Lakeside was awarded the Quality Progress Award by the Greater Memphis Association for Quality and was awarded the Quality Leadership Award in 2004. Rob was recognized by Universal Health Services, Lakeside’s parent company, in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005 with that company’s top leadership and excellence awards.
Rob has served in leadership roles in not-for-profit community mental health centers in both rural and urban settings as well as in for-profit, publicly traded companies and privately-held companies. He has provided direct patient care to most populations and ages. Rob was a founding member of the board of the Mental Health Association of Tennessee. Rob has served on the Executive Committee of the Memphis/Shelby County Mental Health Summit, the Fayette County Foster Care Review Board, the Tennessee Hospital Association, the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems, and the West Tennessee Association for Child Care. He is a 2003 alumnus of Leadership Memphis. Rob is a father to three daughters and has been married to his wife Liz for
over 20 years.
"I have served in both psychiatric and addiction treatment centers for over 20 years. I've seen first-hand how patients get kicked-out," being called "treatment resistant," "non-compliant" and "manipulative." I've also seen patients be over-medicated with prescription medications that simply don't support lasting recovery. At Foundations Recovery Network, we utilize evidence-based practices to meet each person's individual needs with a unique and personalized program. We know how to strike the balance between solid, lasting sobriety while meeting the behavioral and mood disturbance needs that often cause relapse with a compassionate, flexible approach."
