November 22, 2010 | Foundations Recovery Network Adds New Clinical Director to Staff at La Paloma Treatment Center

Jocelyn Penner brings her expertise to state-of-the-art, Memphis-based dual-diagnosis treatment facility

Foundations Recovery Network, one of the premier organizations for treating those with addiction and mental health disorders, recently announced the hiring of Jocelyn Penner (MA, MA, LMHC, CAP, ICADC) as Clinical Director at its La Paloma Treatment Center in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a Certified Addiction Professional, Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Penner's diverse career has included social work for the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Child and Family Protection Services, where she managed an emergency shelter for emotionally disturbed adolescent girls and provided services for abused children and families in crisis. Jocelyn has also worked with men and women of all ages with multiple addictions, co-occurring disorders and mental health issues at Rush Behavioral Health in Lake Forest, Illinois; at Hazelden Foundation in Center City, Minnesota; and at the Hanley Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition to working as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Jocelyn was a Family Counselor for several years and most recently held the position of Director of Family Services at the Hanley Center.

Penner holds a BA in Liberal Studies from Providence College, Otterburne, Manitoba, where she graduated with honors. Penner also earned a BA in Psychology, graduating with Great Distinction from Trinity Western University, Langley, British Columbia; a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois; and a Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling from Hazelden Graduate School, Center City, Minnesota.

In addition to La Paloma, the Foundations Recovery Network family of treatment facilities includes Michael's House in Palm Springs, Calif., and The Canyon in Malibu, Calif., as well as a full-service outpatient treatment center in Atlanta, Ga. All Foundations Recovery Network facilities employ a proven "integrated treatment" approach, focusing on a dual-diagnosis model for lasting recovery.
