About Foundations San Diego

Foundations San Diego is a distinctive outpatient center located in the hub of the Hillcrest metropolitan area in San Diego, California. We offer integrated treatment and recovery support for the unique needs of individuals with co-occurring addiction and mental health concerns. Serving patients both locally and nationwide, the office is just 15 minutes from the San Diego International Airport and is centrally located near Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo.

We believe that treatment for co-occurring disorders is about focusing on the entire person, not just their medical needs. Offering a continuum of individual and group therapies, Foundations San Diego also features integrated educational sessions, case management, as well as on-site medication management and flexible scheduling. Meeting patients right where they are, our staff serves patients in both Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient levels of care, in addition to providing an evening professionals track and holistic services.

Addiction not only affects the person consuming the substance, but also the entire system of people that care about that person. That is why we also offer weekly multi-family groups for the members of a client’s chosen family, in addition to all of the services available to the patient attending treatment. We also provide alumni support groups in the evening that are free for life to all who have attended the program.

Foundations San Diego embraces diversity and the uniqueness of each individual, which is why our personalized care stretches beyond developing tailored treatment plans and flexible schedules. In an authentic environment where patients are encouraged to be themselves, we also offer an LBGTQ-informed treatment track, created specifically for members of the LGBTQ community to gain peer support and additional education. This program also includes curriculum with an emphasis on healthy sexuality in recovery to openly talk about the link between drugs and sex, intimacy and relationships. Our philosophy is that whoever you may be, you have a place at Foundations San Diego.

Foundations San Diego is in network with a wide range of insurance providers, including Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, Value Options/Beacon Health and ComPsych. We are always working to add new providers and we accept other commercial payers that offer out-of-network benefits, so it’s always best to call us directly and let us confirm your benefits.
